Here are some songs that I put together for an EP that came together last minute. Scary Bolly Dub is a song I've been playing in my sets for a while. I use it more as a DJ tool, but I wanted you guys to have it. The Reason and Leaving came together last minute.

Note: I'm expecting many 'TL;DR' comments, so please note this a decent sized read, and please refrain from commenting about its length. If you don't have time, don't read it

If you count his EPs as Sonny Moore and Twipz, Skrillex has 14 EPs under his belt, with only one actual studio album. Out of the 14 EPs, quite a few are remix EPs and he rarely remixes his own stuff, so all the songs in those EPs aren't his. So, original EPs that aren't remix EPs, he has got 7. Bells, Gypsyhook, My Name is Skrillex, SM&NS, MM&NS, Bangarang, and Leaving.

Asking any Skrillex fan what their favourite song is, will generate an easy response. Bangarang, Cinema, SM&NS, and First of the Year are generally common responses. But asking someone what their favourite EP is by him is a bit more of a difficult question. Not everyone even knows the names of the EPs their favourite songs are from. But i'm sure anybody who is subbed to this /r/ knows pretty much everything about Sonny, more than the average listener. So, my fellow redditors and dedicated Skrillex fans, if i were to ask you that question how would you respond? A common answer might be Recess, his only studio album. Another could be Bangarang. Some old-school fans such as myself might say Gypsyhook. But a not-so-common answer, especially with mainstream Skrillex fans, is his underrated EP Leaving.

I mean sure, it isn't underrated in our eyes, but to the average fan they probably never heard of it and if they did, probably would complain it isn't like Skril to make songs that timid. But i'm glad it is like the way it is. I couldn't stand to see your average generic 12 year old Skrillex fan talking about this EP. I would much rather have it only be known and loved by real fans like me and you, who love Skril's work enough to follow him and his life, including this /r/. The 3 songs in this EP have a relatively low amount of views on his YouTube, and low listens on his Soundcloud, and are probably the least viewed original songs on his channel.

But enough pandering. There are a few reasons why I think Leaving is the best EP.

1. It is the perfect mix of electronic music styles. Each of its 3 songs are like a varying level of style. Leaving is soft, The Reason is medium, and Scary Bolly Dub is hard. If you want something timid and melodic, you listen to Leaving. You want something hardcore, you listen to Scary Bolly Dub. You want something kinda melodic but has hard drops, you listen to The Reason. Each of these 3 songs are something people look for in electronic music. Some like hard drops with aggressive feels, some like purely melodic, quiet electronica, and others like a mix of the two. Whatever you prefer, at least one song from Leaving suits your needs.

2. How oddly lazy he was with the whole EP. I know he isn't lazy, he works extremely hard on his songs. Even if he doesn't release 80% of the ones he makes, he still puts a lot of work in them. But this album felt like it was lazy on his part. Which is odd, because of course, he is very hard working. Scary Bolly Dub is literally just like a VIP of SM&NS, but he called the whole thing 'more as a DJ tool, but I wanted you guys to have it'. It's still a fucking fantastic track, and probably is the song i would introduce someone to Skrillex with. Sonny said that he finished The Reason literally one hour before the EPs release date. That sounds like something a run-of-the-mill underground producer would do, not a millionaire Grammy-award winning artist. Leaving is where things actually pick up, though the song takes a lot of inspiration from London dubstep producer Burial. Honestly, the fact that THIS EP is what we get from a lazy-vibe from Sonny, means he has infinite capability, probably more from what we see even in songs he worked hard on. This EP in general is a great thing to bring up if you ever encounter a troll who insists Skrillex is just some lazy asshole who makes 'computer music' and has no real talent. It is a prime example of what he can make, even if we (Or I) get a lazy-vibe from him.

3. The meaning to it all. I may be over-analyzing it, but I think this EP has the most emotion behind it out of everything he's ever made. The song Leaving itself sounds like a farewell to something or someone. Sonny is never really clear on the meaning of his songs, as an example from 'With You, Friends' as people believed the song was about his mother dying, due to the lyrics sounding like a homage to his mother. Though analyzing the lyrics shows its just chopped up vocals from 'I Wish You All the Luck in the World' which is about his friend David. Also, his mother died only recently. Just listening to each of these songs makes you feel different emotions. Almost depressing, really.

4.This is a personal reason, prepare for a long story. I dated a girl solely because of the song Leaving from this EP. So in 2014, sometime in the winter, I met a girl. She wasn't anywhere near in my league, she was popular and very beautiful. And i'm, well, the opposite of those 2 factors. The only reason we talked really was because we were into the same games, and played together every now and then. We never even really talked that much besides that. We just kinda acknowledged each other at school and shit, rarely messaged each other on Steam since she didn't have Facebook. We mostly played Team Fortress 2, and even then not so much. But one day, at school, I was in the cafeteria waiting for the bus to take me to work, as usual. I always waited in the cafeteria, since the bus usually took about 30 minutes to get to the school anyway, and since i left earlier than when school ended, the last lunch period of the day was going on at the time, the one that she has. Anyway, i was waiting in the back at my usual table, with my friend and with my laptop out, since i use my laptop at work (I work an IT job). She occasionally went to my table just to say hi, not always but sometimes.

That day i had my laptop out and was playing music as usual, letting my friend hear some of the stuff i was working on in FL Studio. I guess all the plugins and instruments and the overall UI of FL Studio on the screen caught her attention, as she came over by that time. We exchanged greetings as usual, and she asked me what i was doing, as she most likely came over because she saw i was on FL Studio (Though i never did ask her why, that's my assumption). I told her i was recreating a song. She asked what song. I said 'a Skrillex song'. Her face showed disinterest as soon as i said Skrillex. Noticing that, i said 'No it isn't like, hardcore like the other ones' and i played the original track. As soon as i opened the .mp3 of Leaving she recognized the intro to it, and said 'Oh that's Leaving, I love that song!'. i was surprised at that. I then showed her the remake of Leaving i was working on and she loved it. I then showed her a mashup i did of Jungle Bae and its VIP i was also working on in FL Studio. i explained it as a Skrillex song (50% of a lie, lol) but she actually knew what it was, saying 'Oh its that Skrillex and Diplo song from their debut album'. i was very surprised and we went on for several minutes about Jack U and branched off to EDM in general. Eventually i got called out to the bus as it had arrived, and she told me to message her that night to pick up where we left off on our EDM conversation. I did so, and we talked for days about our favourite artists and i learned that she lived for EDM and learned all these things about her personal life that have been approved after she
